The goal of the Health Education Ministry Committee is to increase the health, mental and spiritual well-being of the Allen Temple Church Family and East Oakland Community. This will be accomplished by emphasizing positive attitudes towards health, increasing knowledge of preventive health practices and providing biblically based tools that will assist in comprehensive self-care.

The Health Education Ministry accomplishes its mission by providing programs in collaboration with community-based organizations, health care and social services agencies throughout the Bay Area.

The objective of our Ministry is to educate and empower the community with positive health maintenance attitudes.

April 2021 - Welcome Spring!

Spring is here and there’s a sense that we may be slowly turning the corner on what has been a long and painful year. As more of us gain access to the COVID vaccine and things are beginning to open up just a bit, many of us are looking for fun, and safe, spring activities. We are reclaiming our sense of hope and joy!

If that’s you, then you have come to the right place. “The Ultimate Guide to the Best Spring Activities” is full of free or low-cost ideas for you to do every day this spring. Whether you do them by yourself, with a friend or with the children/grandchildren (adhering to all of the public health best practices), you can find ways to get fresh air, exercise and fill your days with fun and learning. So, print and share this spring bucket list below.

Let’s make it a competition by documenting how many of the activities listed you can take part in over the next month. Please share your experiences by posting photos and/or comments on the church’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)!
