The Safety & Disaster Response Ministry provides education on safety, emergency response on the Allen Temple Baptist Church campus and in cases of a disaster, provides targeted care until the proper authorities arrive. In addition, we strive to provide care to the community around Allen Temple in the event of a major disaster. Comprised of church members who are in the medical, firefighting and maintenance profession, the Ministry includes a host of trained volunteers who work in various capacities in the event of a disaster. Our duties includes sheltering, feeding, triage and counseling. We are partnered with the American Red Cross, receive training through the Oakland Fire Department’s CORE Program and receive funding in the form of a grant from the San Francisco Foundation to be used in the event of a disaster.
