Following the Holy Scriptures as stated in Acts 6, the Deacons Ministry is following the Holy Spirit and requests the congregation to look out amongst yourselves for individuals who you feel would be appropriate candidates to serve as Deacons. Understanding the needs of our growing and changing congregation, the Deacons Ministry at Allen Temple Baptist Church has elected to onboard a Deacons class of men and women. The Deaconess Ministry serves members by providing spiritual care and acts of mercy. We assist and cooperate with the Pastors and Deacons Ministry with visiting the sick, needy, and distressed members of the church. The ministry provides support to bereaved families and new members. In doing so, we assist the Pastors in developing the spiritual life of members through precept and example. Each month, the Deaconess Ministry prepares for the corporate observance of the ordinances of the Church – Communion and Baptism.
