February 2, 2026
It is my hope you all were blessed, strengthened and encouraged by our January focus on prayer. It was meant to be a necessary reminder that we always have direct Access to the power and presence of God. Utilizing this access is key to living triumphantly through Christ! As we begin a new month, we shift our focus for February to Identity. From what or where do we draw our self-understanding?
This first week, let's reflect on Belonging. This takes on added meaning as we celebrate the 100th year of Black History Commemorations. For a people whose history includes exclusion, displacement, and centuries of struggle to belong, it is vital we root ourselves in an even deeper truth: our identity is not defined by what was denied to us, but by who God says we are. In Christ, we belong—to God, to one another, and to a legacy that cannot be erased.
Scripture declares that we are no longer strangers or outsiders, but members of God’s household (Ephesians 2:19), one body in Christ, and individually members of one another (Romans 12:5). Our belonging is not conditional. WE BELONG TO GOD and OUR LIVES BELONG TO GOD!
Read and Reflect this week on this truth. These texts can help inform your reflection: Isaiah 43:1, Ephesians 2:19, and Romans 8:15.
In the face of what seems to be the unending chaos of these times; where displacement is being normalized and celebrated - may we never forget the declaration of the Psalm 24: The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness there of, the world and those that dwell therein.
I can testify, God takes care of God's own!
Blessings and Triumph to You,
